With Ézio d'Agostino and Stéphanie Solinas
Join us for a dual-narrator tour of the TRUE FAITH exhibition featuring photographer Ézio d’Agostino, the 2020 recipient of our Research and Creation Support Program, and Stéphanie Solinas, who holds a Ph. D. In Visual Arts from Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University.
For more than a decade, the Italian photographer has been exploring the documentary nature of photography, focusing in particular on the medium’s ability to bear witness to social phenomena. This project, launched in 2014, offers an opportunity to return to the artist’s homeland, as Italy accounts for two-thirds of the world’s religious apparitions.
Stéphanie Solinas is a graduate of the ENS Louis Lumière and holds a Ph. D. In Visual Arts from the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne. She creates a multifaceted body of work at the intersection of photography, the book, and installation art. Her practice explores the very act of “seeing” and its limitations, constantly questioning the nature of this medium.
His work has been featured in solo exhibitions at the Rencontres d’Arles, the Musée Carré d’Art in Nîmes, the Fraenkel LAB (San Francisco), at FOAM in Amsterdam, in Paris at the Musée National Eugène-Delacroix, at La Maison Rouge, and at the Société Française de Photographie. His work is included in international collections: at the Centre National des Arts Plastiques, the Bibliothèque Nationale de France, the CNAC Georges Pompidou/Kandinsky Library, the PACA Regional Contemporary Art Collection, the Nicéphore Niepce Museum, the Musée de l’Elysée in Lausanne, Pier 24 Photography in San Francisco, as well as in several private collections. Stéphanie Solinas has published Dominique Lambert (2010/2016), Untitled (Mr. Bertillon) (2012) and Deserters (2013).
