"SNAPSHOTS: COVERT PHOTOGRAPHS OF NAZI CAMPS"

drawing on a collection of images, some of which have never been published, Christophe Cognet explores the clandestine photographs taken in Nazi camps as acts of resistance. For more than fifteen years, Christophe Cognet has been engaged in a cinematic reflection on the images taken by the deportees themselves, in secret and at the risk of their lives, in the Nazi camps. This is as much a historical exploration as it is a tribute to their creators, placing them back at the center and at the origin of their images.

With Annette Wieviorka, historian (emeritus research director at the CNRS, specialist in the Holocaust and 20th-century Jewish history) and Christophe Cognet (director, filmmaker, author of snapshots: Secret Photographs of Nazi Camps (Seuil), 2019).
