LIBRARY NIGHT
A Conversation with Cédric Gerbehaye
As part of the Library Night 2020, the Institut pour la photographie invites you to a meeting with photographer Cédric Gerbehaye to discuss two of his books published by The Upturned Beak and a multiple award winner: Congo in Limbo (2010), the result of three years of travel in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Land of Cush (2013), which focuses on South Sudan.
The event will be followed by a book signing and a tour of the exhibition *Réalités données*, the Institute’s carte blanche to the MAPS Agency , of which he is a founding member. It was in this context that Cédric Gerbehaye visited the Lycée Maurice Duhamel in Loos, in the Lille metropolitan area, on several occasions to meet with the exiled minors from sub-Saharan and East Africa whom the school hosts. Their various discussions about their past, present, and future experiences gave rise to the series Odysseys and Horizons , presented at the Institute as part of EN QUÊTE.
