Ezio D’Agostino meets Gil Bartholeyns,

on his research topic, TRUE FAITH.

Ezio D’Agostino, winner of the Research and Creation Support Program of the Institut pour la photographie is conducting research on the phenomenon of the apparitions of religious images in Italy. The photographic image thus becomes evidence of something that cannot be proven—a record of something that will always remain invisible to our eyes.

Gil Bartholeyns is a historian; he teaches at the University of Lille, where he directs the master's program Visual Sciences and Culture , he is co-editor-in-chief of the journal T technology & Culture , he published Image Performance published by Éditions de l’Université de Bruxelles, Visual Policies (Published by Les presses du réel), Images and Transgression in the Middle Ages  (PUF). He is currently conducting ethnographic research on a phosphorescent, miraculous statuette in southern Belgium.
