[ Heavenly Sweetness / Pura Vida]

He got into hip-hop in the 1980s, Guts was one of the founders and the sound designer for Alliance Ethnik, and has also worked with the Sages Poètes de la Rue, the Svinkels, Common, and Rahzel (of The Roots).

A solo artist since 2007, he signed with the Heavenly Sweetness label in 2011 with his third album, “Paradise for All.” This was followed by “Hiphop after all,” “Eternal,” and his latest release, “Philantropiques,” which showcases the Afro-tropical sounds he holds dear.

A true digger, he collects grooves from around the world, which he shares through his DJ sets and his “Beach Diggin’” compilations, alongside his partner Mambo. He recently released “Straight from the Decks,” a compilation of what has made his sets famous: sunny, groovy tracks that are sure to bring the Pura Vida vibe to the dance floor.
