> ON THE PROGRAM:
Film Screening The Struggle Continues (The Struggle Continues) by Robert Van Lierop (1971, 36’) followed by a discussion with Augusta Conchiglia .
A journalist, photographer, and filmmaker, Augusta Conchiglia joined the Angolan guerrilla movement in the late 1960s. She is now considered one of the leading experts on Angola and liberation movements in Africa and writes regularly for *Le Monde Diplomatique*.
Filmed in 1971 in the liberated zones of Mozambique, the film will be followed by a testimony and commentary by Augusta Conchiglia based on his own experiences in Angola. This will be an opportunity to reflect on the issue of the activist image in the context of the liberation struggles of the 1960s and 1970s.
The event will be hosted by Catarina Boieiro , as part of a research project supported by the Institut pour la photographie , and is presented in conjunction with the exhibition Reject Colonial War at the Maison du Portugal (Cité internationale universitaire de Paris), from April 19 to May 5, 2019.
