* Halogénure is a biannual journal of alternative photography, founded and run by a group of six enthusiasts who came together through their shared love of so-called “low-budget” photographic practices. Focused primarily on silver-based and pre-industrial processes, its editorial approach highlights immersive works, experiments, DIY projects, alterations, and various interventions on the medium, as well as “poor” and hybrid photographic practices; all of which are distinct approaches united only by their convergence toward a practice that is physically disappearing: that of the print. Structured around three thematic sections per issue, Halogénure offers its readers a comprehensive editorial experience. At once a graphic object, a photobook, and a collection of statements from interviewed photographers, Halogénure seeks to deconstruct the traditional photographic narrative in order to offer a close-up view of a marginal yet extremely active sector of contemporary photography.
